Kick off your kitchen confidence journey with Essentials I, the first class in a three-part Essentials series designed to build real, lifelong cooking fundamentals. This session focuses on two absolute game-changers for home cooks: professional knife skills and a smart, organized pantry that makes everyday cooking faster, easier, and way more fun.
In the hands-on knife skills portion, Chef Mark will work side-by-side with participants to teach exactly how pros handle knives in the kitchen. You’ll learn safe grip and posture, how to choose and care for your essential knives, and the core cuts that unlock smoother prep—think slicing, dicing, mincing, and more. To put those skills into action, the class will prepare two recipes together:
- Garden Vegetable Minestrone Soup
- Asian Salsa
Bring your knife to class so you are using a tool that you are comfortable using.
Chef Mark will also cover what staples to keep on hand, how to store and organize them for efficiency, and the necessary items that help an organized home kitchen run like a dream. You’ll leave knowing not just what to stock, but how to use it to pull together meals on busy nights.
Series option: Essentials I is the first of three classes. You can register for each Essentials class individually, or sign up for all three at once for a series discount. Registering for the full series is $285 per person total.
Come ready to chop, learn, and level up—Essentials I sets the tone for the whole series and gives you the tools to cook with confidence from day one.
